At the spa I work in we have the Cynosure Affirm Laser and XPL. My boss and I were trained by a representative of Cynosure. We're getting more and more clients interested in the laser. I've given in to my boss but last night I had an XPL treatment with a TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peel. I was really scared because I had given myself one pulse on my leg and it hurt so bad! (and plus the TCA peel would enhance the pain) I really wanted to do it because I definitely have pigmentation issues (most of you wouldn't know because I definitely wear full-coverage foundation). My boss started the treatment on my forehead and I could actually stand it (it wasn't as bad as i thought). It got worse on my cheeks but my T-zone was bearable. The light feels like a hot rubberband slapping my face. Then after the XPL she applied the acid. By the fourth application, my pain level (from 1-10) was getting to a 9.5 fast. She then applied the Retinol and my face cooled down immediately. My skin has 3 places where I'm going to peel and my face is really tight. Overall, it was a great treament. I suggest anyone to do it (except people with a fitzpatrick level 4-6).
